Symphonia · A player for your own music server
Symphonia Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the Symphonia mobile app handles and where it goes. Symphonia is published by Thomistico LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company ("we", "us"). Symphonia is a client for a Navidrome or other OpenSubsonic-compatible music server that you choose; it does not include a music catalog, and we do not operate your music server.
Your music-server connection
When you connect, Symphonia stores your server address, username, and a derived authentication token with its salt. Your plain-text server password is not stored. On iOS and Android this connection is kept in the device's secure storage; in a web browser it is kept only for the browser session.
To browse, stream, download, and manage your library, the app sends requests to the server you configured. Depending on what you do, those requests can include ratings, favorites, playlist changes, and your play queue. Scrobbling (play reports to your server) is off by default and can be turned on in Settings.
This information goes directly between your device and your server. It is not sent to Thomistico LLC. Whoever operates that server controls how it stores and uses this information.
Information stored on your device
Symphonia stores the following locally on your device: preferences, listening and search history (listening history can be turned off in Settings), downloaded music for offline playback, cached artwork and lyrics, and playlist photos you choose from your photo library. These are not uploaded to us. Playlist photos are copied into the app and are not uploaded to your music server.
Lyrics lookup
When your music server has no lyrics for a song and you are online, Symphonia can look up lyrics from LRCLIB (lrclib.net). This fallback is on by default. It sends the song title, artist, album, and duration to LRCLIB; like any internet request, LRCLIB also receives your device's IP address. Your server credentials and music files are not sent. Turn off the external lyrics fallback in Settings to use only lyrics from your server.
Free trial and lifetime purchase
Symphonia offers a seven-day free trial and an optional one-time lifetime unlock. Purchases and trial status are handled through Apple's App Store or Google Play and RevenueCat, a purchase-management service that processes this information for us.
- RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-generated customer identifier, purchase and receipt information, trial and entitlement status, and technical details needed to validate purchases (such as app version and platform).
- The app turns off RevenueCat's optional automatic collection of device identifiers.
- Your app store processes your payment details; we do not receive them.
- Your music-server address, credentials, music files, and listening history are not sent to RevenueCat.
See RevenueCat's privacy policy and your app store's privacy information.
Android trial accounts
On Android, the seven-day trial uses a verified email account on servers operated by Thomistico LLC. We store your email address, a hash of your password (never the plain-text password), account and security records, and trial activation and expiry times. Checking or starting the trial requires an internet connection, and we send account emails such as address confirmation to the address you provide.
Deleting the trial account removes its account data. To prevent a new trial after reinstalling or recreating an account, we keep a one-way hash of the verified email address and the time the trial first started. This record is not used for advertising.
Server logs
Our account servers may keep technical request logs, such as IP address, time, and request details, for security and to keep the service running.
Advertising, analytics, and sale of data
Symphonia contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, and it does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We do not sell your personal information.
Your choices and deletion
- Disconnect from your server, clear downloads, and change history, scrobbling, and lyrics settings in the app.
- On Android, sign out of or delete your trial account under Purchase options in Settings. Deletion does not erase data saved locally on your device or records held by your app store.
- Uninstalling the app removes its locally stored data from that device. It does not restart a trial or erase purchase records held by your app store.
- To request access to or deletion of information we or RevenueCat hold about you, email [email protected]. App stores keep their own purchase records under their own policies.
Children
Symphonia is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date above changes when we do, and material changes will be noted in the app or its store listing.
